Generosity is the bedrock that makes Mission City relevant to a struggling world.
From the beginning, Mission City Church has given to missions. Giving and being generous is not just for the rich. Anyone can be generous. That's why we give 10% of our budget to several missions organizations every month. And it's not just financial generosity... it's how we invest our time to those in need. ALL of us are called to be on a mission for God. We, who call ourselves followers of Christ, are missionaries wherever we are.
Mission City's Food Pantry
What makes Mission City Church’s Food Pantry so unique?
Mission City Church distributes food to our community on the first and third Thursday of each month. Our motto is “Loving our Neighbors”, and our goal is to love them by sharing God’s love to those who are hungry both physically and spiritually.
Our process starts from the moment guests drive in, as someone directs and connects with them. Once they have been greeted by our parking team, they’ll pull up to a tent where they are offered a bible, available in both English and Spanish. We also have candy and toys for families who have children with them. After stopping at our welcome tent, guests are directed to a distribution tent where groceries are placed in the car. We have an incredible group of people we call “runners” who pack the cars while one of our “prayer partners” prays with and for the family.
This is what makes us unique from other food pantries – prayer. We believe wholeheartedly in prayer, which is our lifeline to God. We pray for God to bring the food, volunteers, and guests – and He has not let us down. Many guests return to share how God has answered the prayers we have prayed over them. There have also been many who have prayed to surrender their lives to Christ.
Praying for and serving in Mission City’s Food Pantry is both a privilege and a blessing as we share the Gospel with those in our community. If you are interested in volunteering, please email info@themissioncity.org. If you would like to donate food, we collect on Sundays from 11:30am-12pm, and Wednesday evenings from 5pm-6:30pm.
