The Not Normal Life
10/8/21
It’s a privilege to serve so many people through MCC’s Food Pantry, as we did yesterday. It’s inspiring hearing all the stories. The media, and what we read on social media, never communicates what God is doing in the lives of so many people everyday, and it is extraordinary. I feel very blessed that I get to share in all of this with all of you.
This week I was able to sit and spend time with Don and Sally Meredith, in their living room. They wrote the book “Two Becoming One” 50 years ago. Don has been diagnosed with terminal cancer, and he will be with Jesus in 6 months. Talking with them about Don’s condition was an encouragement to me. They discussed his death like he was going to visit relatives in Georgia and we’d see him later. Which is exactly what is going to happen… except the Georgia part 🙂
Don said “Normal people don’t understand how we can approach this with such joy and hope.” He is exactly right. Followers of Jesus are not normal. We’ve been made new. We are not normal anymore. We have moved into the supernatural. The Spirit of the living God is in us. Our lives are now in His hands and we have a beautiful and joyous eternity coming to us. We’ve been forgiven of all sin. We’ve been adopted into the family of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. There’s nothing normal about us anymore. Be encouraged my friends to live the “not normal anymore” life of freedom Jesus bought for you.
This Sunday we continue in our 6-week series through Galatians. This book is crazy good. If you haven’t yet, go read it. We’ll be examining chapter 4 on Sunday. I’m very excited to share it.
Also, on October 24th we are going to have Swag Sunday. This means we have FREE T-Shirts for everyone who is in church that day. If you aren’t in church Sunday October 24th, we hope to still have some shirts but they will be $10 each. So don’t miss October 24th. What kind of shirt is it? Well, you’ll have to wait and see. Don’t miss church Sunday October 24th.
Last thing… God loves you. I mean He really does. I hope you believe it today. I beg you to put all your hope and faith in Him.
