Fall Is In The Air

Fall is in the air, and this weekend is supposed to be the height of colors in the mountains. Seeing the leaves change colors is a beautiful thing. But in order for them to change colors, they have to die. Something changes inside them, causing them to die and change to these wonderful colors. When they do, everyone notices. People come from all over to see the beauty of it.
I believe God created this wonder, with the trees this time of year, in order for us to remember the gospel message in our own lives. We don’t become beautiful and radiant until we die to our old self. When we put our faith in Jesus, we change. We become something totally different, and people notice. The angels notice and the Bible says they have a party and celebrate each time one of us surrenders to Christ. I guess the angels have their own version of going to mountains to see the leaves change, and it’s when a human soul turns to Christ.
I say this for a reason. This weekend I want you to look at the beauty in the trees changing colors and know that God made them. He made the beauty and wonder of it all for His glory. He made us the same way and when we surrender and die to our old self… when we put our faith in Jesus, it is a beautiful thing to see. It’s a wonderful change. More beautiful than any tree I’ve ever seen.
The only thing you have to do is put your faith in the crucifixion, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. I pray all of us will do that today.
